Prospective Graduate Students

Thanks for your interest! Mobile and Networked Systems (MNS) Lab is looking for Ph.D. candidates in the areas of Embedded machine learning, Quantumn computing, Health care, Smart agriture, mobile systems, wireless technologies, and security.
Students with either EE or CS background are highly encouraged to apply.

Candidates are expected to have:

  • a solid background in system design, networks, and/or Machine Learning,
  • a strong motivation towards academic excellence,
  • and should be prepared for years of concentrated work.
  • The following background would be a big plus:

  • Graduated with a Master Degree from accredited colleges and universities.
  • Published research articles as first author.
  • Experience in practical implementation of latest Deep Learning libraries. In particular, we are looking for candidates that have experiences in TensorFlow, PyTorch, NLTK, Theano, or CUDA programming.
  • Experience in developing cyber-physical mobile and network systems for health-care. Candidates should have strong background in hardware-software interface and embedded systems design.
  • Experience in digital signal processing, machine learning, data mining, and cloud computing.
  • Students in our team will build a diverse skill set in both system implementation and theoretical modeling. They will also acquire broad knowledge of mobile sensing, mobile applications, mobile healthcare, wearable computing, etc. Because of such unique strength, our team has top-conference papers and best paper awards in various venues such as MobiCom, MobiSys, SenSys, and CCS.
