Notes for Prospective Postdoctoral Researchers

Hi and thanks for your interest!

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado in Boulder has a postdoctoral position associated with Dr. Tam Vu.

The Mobile and Networked Systems (MNS) Lab is seeking a well-qualified Postdoctoral Associate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science. The postdoc will be involved in MNS Lab research on mobile healthcare, cyber-physical systems, security, and privacy. In particular, MNS Lab is designing new mobile and RF sensing technologies for healthcare applications, developing novel low-power (or battery-free) wireless communication technologies, and designing new identification/authentication/authorization technologies for mobile devices. The postdoc is expected to be a strong asset to our interdisciplinary research group and work effectively both alone and as a team member. The postdoc must be self-motivated but also take direction from other team members and peers. Finally, the postdoc will be involved in co-advising graduate students working on the projects.

The candidate must have deep experience in mobile/ubiquitous computing, sensing technologies, security and privacy, planning and conducting experimental computer systems research.

Having one or more of the following experience would be a big plus:

  • Implementing practical wireless technologies such as software defined radio, MIMO, OFDM, RF-Sensing. In particular, we are looking for candidates that have experiences in programming WARP or USRP platforms for real-time signal processing.
  • Developing cyber-physical mobile and network systems for health-care. Candidates should have strong background in hardware-software interface and embedded systems design.
  • Digital signal processing, machine learning, data mining, and cloud computing.
  • Developing mobile applications and services (iOS, Android OS, Matlab, Java, C/C++, Python).
  • Writing scientific manuscripts for conference and journal publications, presentation of research results at peer review meetings, national and international conferences and meetings.
  • Applicants for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher must have a PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related areas.
